[edit] Dancing?
No shit, dancing was a required for-credit class at USAFA back in the day? This wasn't just a "Wing Hostess" thing? We need a page created on that, and pictures if possible. Hector, you've got to have some somewhere. - Tarfu92 14:26, 22 June 2008 (CDT)
- Ballroom dancing was included as "customs and courtesies" under the course entitled Military Studies 100 taught during the fourth class year. The class was divided into groups and taken to Arnold Hall. There a series of instructions on ballroom dancing took place. We were taught Waltz, Fox Trot, Jitterbug, and ha-cha-cha. I recall that you began dancing solo, progressed to dancing with a chair and ultimately danced with one of the instructors. When cleared for "solo," Mrs McComas would bring in a busload of girls from Loretto Heights College, Denver University, and other Denver local schools. We were paired up by height and "away we went." Sorry, I do not have photos since, as doolies, we had more important things to do than to take photos.
Thanks. I'm copying that to its own article. Not sure how to categorize it--athletics? military training?--so I'll just put it in "Cadet Life" for now. - Tarfu92 07:55, 24 June 2008 (CDT)
