Talk:Silver Weekend
From USAFA Folklore
[edit] Timeline
When did the "Silver/Blue Weekend" terminology start? Was it revived from earlier Academy days? We didn't use the blue/silver terminology while I was there (88-92). Whatever was scheduled for that weekend was just there; it didn't have a name. A "training weekend" normally referred to a specially designed 4ยบ training weekend (either freestanding or in addition to SAMI/Parade/IRI) usually limited to either a squadron or a group. - Tarfu92 13:51, 22 August 2006 (PDT)
Weren't they called Triple Threats? SAMI, Parade, IRI...
A Triple Threat is an especially delicious variant of the Silver Weekend.
A triple threat was only when you had all three, but that didn't happen often. Many weekends it was just SAMI or SAMI/Parade.
