[edit] So...

Youknow, is Pinnacle still around, even with the return of Recognition? That's what it sounds like from the USAFA fact sheet. - Tarfu92 10:10, 31 May 2008 (CDT)

I just finished smack year and we never had it. I'm pretty sure they got rid of it once they bought back Recognition for '09. - 07petko 10:22, 31 May 2008 (CDT)

Interesting. Did you still do the Heritage March thing? What about that other one--Commandant's Challenge? As I read the fact sheet, it sounds like the original intent was for a three-part program w/Comm's Challenge, Pinnacle and Recognition. - Tarfu92 18:45, 31 May 2008 (CDT)

Comm's Challenge is still around, but we never did any sort of Heritage March. I don't know what happened to the original intent, but there are only four major training events per year now: BCT, Comm's Challenge, Recognition, and the UCI. - 07petko 14:28, 1 June 2008 (CDT)

What's the UCI? When did it start? And why doesn't it have a wiki page? - Tarfu92 18:15, 1 June 2008 (CDT)

The Unit Compliance Inspection is supposed to model a real AF UCI. There are actually two UCIs per year at the Academy - one for permanent party in March (it was actually the week of Recognition this year, not sure if that's always the case) and then the cadet UCI in late April. It's actually a week long, but Monday-Friday really only consists of CQ inspections, being told to wear your proxy card every several minutes, and instructors following regulations to the letter. Then comes all the normal stuff on Saturday (read: Triple Threat). Once the UCI is over (meaning the cadet one), cadets usually get certain privileges and responsibilities reserved for the next highest class (i.e. everyone gets more passes, four degrees start sitting CQ, two degrees take over SDO, etc). - 07petko 19:04, 1 June 2008 (CDT)

Thanks. I added this info, with a few style edits, to a new UCI page. - Tarfu92 13:10, 12 June 2008 (CDT)
