The Class of 1998 was one of the toughest classes in recent years. They endured a full-year fourthclass system complete with running outside and "training sessions" in at time where other Academies (hint: West Point) switched to a more gentle fourtclasss system. Their hell-week and Recognition was reminiscent of "old school" classes ending in a culminating ceremony Saturday night sometime in May of 1995. 1998 was also the first year of Combat Survival Training (CST) instead of full-on SERE due to a congresswoman's efforts leading to even more hazing from upperclassmen.
