[edit] Ad vita ipsa justavit

I'm guessing this was supposed to translate as something like "Toward a life which is its own reward", but I'm a little nonplussed by the Latin. I can't find "iustavit" in any of my dictionaries or on any online resources; it looks like a 3d person perfect indicative verb form, and it kind of looks like "iustus" (just, or fair) but I'm not getting how it fits. Also, as I remember, ad should take the accusative, not the ablative, so as I figure, it should be "Ad vitam ipsam". Any 67 folks or Latin scholars that can shed some light on this? - Tarfu92 10:44, 8 September 2006 (PDT)

Translation is supposed to read "To a life which justifies itself." I took three years of latin but can't remember a damn thing. Halliday - '67
