I seem to remember that when you received two opportunities to pass the PFT test and then went to a board. When did the athletic probation start?

Not sure, but they had it when I was there (88-92). As I recall, (mind you, I was never on it, so I cant' speak from experience) if you failed the PFT, you had the chance to take it again within maybe 10 days (in case it was just a bad day), and if you failed it again, you got put on Ath Pro--you went to reconditioning on off-intramural days and you had to take the PFT something like once a month until you passed. After a certain number of months they would send you to a board, but as I recall, very few people (certainly no one I knew) got the boot on athletics alone.
