[edit] Duties

So I understand the whole "exposure to the enlisted force" concept--probably a good thing for cadets overall--but what do the AMTs/MTLs actually do on a day-to-day basis? - Tarfu92 16:43, 12 August 2007 (CDT)

Babysitting.
I would recommend that they take over the CCQ duty, so that cadets don't need to miss class just so they can answer inane phone calls from Group... --Heinous 15:19, 13 August 2007 (CDT)
The AMTs also teach CPME (Cadet Professional Military Education). Overall though, I haven't seen much of my friendly neighborhood TSgt. --07petko 18:35, 13 August 2007 (CDT)

Not trying to be snide, but is there that much CPME for an AMT to teach? I vaguely remember having a squadron associate NCO (someone from the base) come in to teach enlisted force-related lessons during maybe a couple of M-5s a year, but that's it. Oh...and weren't AMTs called something else before MTL? I seem to remember someone on eDodo saying that the PTB changed it from something like "advisor" to "leader" to properly reflect the leadership roles of all NCOs, or something like that. - Tarfu92 15:29, 14 August 2007 (CDT)

I'm not really sure how much CPME they can teach (since the year just started), but both weeks now we've had it scheduled Tuesday and Thursday. The difference may be that our curriculum isn't solely enlisted force-realted lessons. Today's class, for example, was on suicide prevention. They cover a pretty wide range of topics. - 07petko 16:28, 14 August 2007 (CDT)

Good point. I think we used to have those kinds of lessons taught by associate AOCs, squadron professional ethics adviors (SPEAs) and some other additional-duty-assigned folks--most of them were officers from non-CW parts of the staff. Do they still have those around? - Tarfu92 17:10, 14 August 2007 (CDT)

Regardless, I absolutely love how the "Duties" section of the article contains only "??". Classic! --Heinous 00:20, 15 August 2007 (CDT)

Hehe. I hadn't meant that as commentary, but I'm glad I could add some humor to the article. - Tarfu92 09:23, 15 August 2007 (CDT)

[edit] Two?

So what, exactly, do two NCOs do in each squadron? I could possibly see enough for one, but must I admit that I am having trouble picturing how one would keep a MSgt and a TSgt occupied full time in a cadet squadron. Anyone? - Tarfu92 15:46, 19 December 2007 (CST)
