Spirit banner

From USAFA Folklore

Jump to: navigation, search

A Spirit Banner is an extra bedsheet that is decorated by Fourth Class Cadets and then hung someplace prominent, usually the Mitchell Hall Staff Tower. Spirit Banners are most commonly made during the week prior to football games and the decorations on them poke fun at that week's opposing football team.

During Army Week and Navy Week, visiting and exchange Army and Navy cadets and midshipmen will occasionally make their own spirit banners, poking fun at USAFA.
