[edit] The Pizza Man

During week five of Basic Cadet Training in 1986, (without money or telephone privileges), twelve Basics from the BCT squadron "Cobras" attempted to order three large pizzas from Domino's after taps. One Basic escaped to place the secret phone-call, and another Basic met the delivery man at the Base Of The Ramp with $20 which he had kept hidden, but the bill was $37. All other Basics were apprehended trying to leave their rooms. An upper-class cadet returning drunk from town caught the purchaser, and others ate his pizzas, but named him "The Pizza Man." The next week in Jack's Valley, that Basic spent hours on the Assault Course, forced to report in at each obstacle, "Sir, I am the Pizza Man." He was severely hazed, but received a standing ovation from his classmates, and his story is fondly remembered by many in Mighty '90.
