Lowry Air Force Base

Lowry Air Force Base (Denver, Colorado) was the initial location of the Air Force Academy. The first classes attended here while the Colorado Springs facility was constructed. On 29 August 1958, the wing of 1145 cadets moved to its present location.

Lowry West Quadrangle.  The building in the background was the Commandant of Cadets building.  The three large glass enclosures in front of the Comm Shop  was where our grades were posted every few weeks. (No privacy then!)
