Falcon Stadium is where the Academy football team plays its home games and also serves as the location for Graduation ceremonies. Falcon Stadium was built with private funds, largely coming from early faculty and staff serving at the Air Force Academy.

[edit] The first game at Falcon Stadium

  • Fall of '63 I think, anyway, the very first game in Falcon Stadium, Falcons vs CSU - it was a rout. A minute or so to go in the 4th quarter, score 63-0, we made another touchdown, score now 69-0. Time for the extra point. Entire AFCW now cheering 'block that kick'. Terry Isaacson, QB, listening to the wing, took a long pause to consider, called the play, sent the receivers into the end zone for a two-pointer, and he threw the ball at one of their feet. Game over, score for the newspapers stays. Haven't seen it on eDodo before, but THAT was one for the record books! - DaddyWags (17 Jul2004)
