Eshbach

Eshbach was the huge freaking book of Engineering fundamentals that was issued to every freshman cadet starting in 1957, with the class of 1961. The book was at least 3-4 inches thick and was used probably twice during a cadet's four years. During the 80s, a tradition erupted of drop kicking the book and/or ripping it to shreds when finals week was over.

The main reason that it was ripped to shreds and/or drop kicked was that the book companies who showed up to buy back cadet books didn't want it and would usually give you $2.00 for it. I remember in 1987 that there was a HUGE pile of Eschbachs on the floor in the SAR that was used by one of these companies.
