Dormitory rappelling

Cadets have occasionally been known to practice their rappelling in non-standard places.

  • Three degree year I got really into rappelling, and used to tie off to the handrails in the stairwell by 26th SQ CQ desk and rappel down to Terrazzo level. Then a Firstie friend of mine dared me to drop down the garbage chute in our squadron (31st). We tied off to the ladder in the utility room next to the chute and dropped down to 32nd SQ. Thought the guy working CQ in Roadrunners was gonna come unglued when I kicked the door open from the inside and pulled myself out. - Sass
