Dark Ages

The Dark Ages refers to the time between Christmas Break and Spring Break. These months are dark literally and figuratively--cadets have just returned from a nice long break, and the winter sun goes down early, and the mountains only make it get dark earlier--often even before classes are out for the day. The walk down to intramurals and the long, dark, trip back up the hill for dinner during this time always seemed particularly depressing.
