[edit] Trivia

  • The Class of 1990 was the first class to be issued computers. Each cadet received a Zenith Z-248 desktop computer. This led the upperclasses to refer to them as "Floppy Disk 90".
  • The graduation speaker, General Larry D. Welch, is also the father of one of the members of 1990, Paul Welch.
  • The airplanes on 1990's class crest add up to 90 (SR-71, F-15, and F-4). Being the 32nd class, the aircraft numbering tradition observed by previous classes dictated the planes add up to 32. This attempt to change the tradition failed when the Class of 1991 chose planes that add up to 33.

[edit] Distinguished Graduates

  • Dee Dowis, quarterback.
  • Tim Kane, Entrepreneur, Congressional candidate, Heritage Foundation
  • James Sanchez is the first person from the Mighty Class of '90 to be elected to the AOG Board of Directors, beginning his term in July, 2007.
  • Mike Shower shot down two Mig-29s over Yugoslavia.
