[edit] Trivia

Class of 1960 was the first class to train an incoming class (Class of 1963) and was the second graduating class. Like the Class of '59, we did not go home for Christmas.

Air Power Rooms in the squadron were started by Ken Werrell and his roomate Dave Wiest after the move to the permanent site.

The Class of 1960's best "spirit mission" was the first Army Air Force football game. George Luck had been a plebe at West Point before entering USAFA, and he still had his West Point uniforms. He put on his West Point uniform over his USAFA uniform and fell in with the Army march on telling those around him that he just got out of the dispensary and got a quick briefing of the march on. When the Army cadets were on the field, George broke ranks and ran the the Guidon bearer where he tore of his Army uniform revealing his USAFA uniform, grabbed the Guidon flag, ran to the USAFA side of the field and planted the flag, and then ran into the stands. It was totally unexpected and caught all by dumbfounding surprise! We tied Army 13-13. Not bad for an underdog.
