Lt. Gen Bradley C. Hosmer is the first graduate of the academy and served as the twelfth Superintendent of the Academy, holding the position from 1991 to 1994. A member of the Class of 1959, Hosmer was the first graduate to return as Superintendent.

The general entered the Air Force as a member of the first graduating class of the academy, the Class of 1959, and is the first academy graduate to be named Superintendent of the Academy. He has served in a variety of staff positions, including vice director of the Joint Staff and Air Force inspector general. He also has commanded two Air Force fighter wings, an air division and served as president of the National Defense University, Fort Lesley J. McNair, Washington, D.C. The general is a command pilot and has flown more than 4,000 hours, principally in fighter aircraft.
