Annie Shaw
From USAFA Folklore
Annie Shaw is the fictional protagonist of Kim Ponders' excellent The Art of Uncontrolled Flight, and a USAFA grad flying AWACS during the first Gulf War. The book offers a very different and realistic look at career pressures and choices facing female officers operating in traditionally male environs. Although not about the Academy experience per se, Ponders' Shaw is one of the deeper and more thoughtful USAFA grads in literature.
